Any advice regarding Armani vs Tissot Watches?

Its a gift for someone, I see they are similar price range +-R6k max I'm willing to go up, male.

For my situation, I think Guess, Fossil, etc. is a bit 'cheap' for the amount i want to spend on the gift.
(Believe me i don't even own a watch above R2k haha, but cheap for the gift situation at hand)

Thanks for asking dude, I would prefer the Tissot...you don't have to wrap it even

I think armani still falls in the "fashion" range of watches
I would go with the tissot
do you have a link tot he watch you looking at?

Proud owner of 2 x Tissot watches. T-Touch for everyday and a more formal one for, well, formal stuff.

They are brilliant watches. Before I invested in the Tissots I had a Seiko(average) and a Guess(horrible).

Tissot is by far a better gift than Armani and there are a huge amount of fakes out there of Armani. Just the name Tissot is by far more impressive and valued.

Nothing specific for Tissot yet besides what I've seen in shops. Not even sure what our local retailers have for both cases. But from what I've browsed so far I decided on a price range and now just to decide on a brand before looking at specific models. I don't know both brands, thats why the post asking advice regarding quality (Don't want it to stop working after warranty period like all things these days), workmanship, service in South Africa, and timeless pieces.

Tissot build quality is really amazing.

I've had my T-Touch for more than 3 years now. Wear it everyday and never even bother to take it off when going off road biking, swimming, climbing and hiking. It has taken it's fair share of knocks through the years and apart from a few minor scratches on the body and bracelet from taking a tumble down a hill with the quad bike it is still spotless. No scratches on the glass face and it hasn't given me any hint that it will stop working.

What is the formal range called, T-Classic? T-Touch seems to have formal look watches also

Also, i understand theres no Tissot outlets here, so can servicing/battery changes, general repairs be done at the certified jeweler that i buy it from?

These are the two I have.

T-Touch and 1853 or PRC200 (the formal one). Not sure about the official naming or model numbering. Will have to check my watch and box at home.

Bought mine at Arthur Kaplan and they can do service, battery changes and more there.

Only ever needed to have my strap resized twice in the past 3 years and they did it within 5min each time. No questions asked.

IIRC there has been 2 upgrades to the T-Touch since I got mine. One is now also solar powered.

Thank you very much, much appreciated. Can you believe there's no Arthur Kaplan in Cape Town lol, well according to their website.
I will do some browsing later on today.
