Armani vs Tissot

I think armani still falls in the "fashion" range of watches

Totally agreed. Companies making shoes, clothes and perfume have no business making watches in my opinion. Tissot all the way (wish I could afford one...)

Tissot all the way. Buy it on a stainless steel bracelet and then get some nice Hirsch straps.

As an amateur horologist - go the Tissot. It is an entry level Swiss watch by Swatch. Isome components are manufactured in Indonesia and China but to keep the Swiss Made label it is assembled in Switzerland. Make sure to get a nice Automatic.

Armani watches are cheap Chinese trash not much better than flea market garbage with a label that costs 5k.

If you want an automatic watch that is excellent and where you get quality commisurate with the price look at automatic Seikos in that price range. If you can get the Green Alpinist you are on the right track.

The Hamilton Khaki Automatic is also a production line entry level Swiss watch by Swatch but I am partial to it and it is in your price range.

Thank you very much for your advice, I settled on the tissot-couturier-quartz. Within my price range, and I'm not really a fan of automatic, I have an auto fossil and not happy with the way it keeps time, the seller also advised that it is normal for automatics to gain or lose few seconds every day or week, even the more expensive ones, although they are minimal and won't notice a difference after about a month or so

Dude, the fossil is made from a cheap Chinese made mechanism which probably loses up to a minute every month.

While it is true that all automatics lose some time - a quality automatic will lose hardly any. My Hamilton Khaki Automatic (In your price range.) with the H-10 movement (The mechanical time keeping mechanism.) loses about 0.5-1.5 seconds a week. Hardly noticable. It is all about quality of the Swiss made mechanism.

You are effectively buying a piece of fine jewelry that will last you 30 years or more if treated right. Quartz keeps time but it is merely functional.

Not the one I have but similar:

The one I have (Which might be a bit more than you want to spend)
