The men drove onto the premises where they kidnapped three orphaned boys and took them to the Jacksonville Squatter Camp.

SEVEN armed men gained access to TLC Children’s Home on Plot 136 Bronkhorstfontein, Eikenhof, on Wednesday, November 16, in a hijacked ambulance, kidnapping three children and then speeding off to Jacksonville Squatter Camp.

The security guard at TLC Children’s Home allowed the men onto the premises under the impression that they were medical personnel and there had been an emergency in the home. The armed men then ambushed the security guard. The driver of the ambulance was also tied up and thrown into the back of the ambulance after being hijacked.

The men then drove onto the premises where they kidnapped three orphaned boys and took them to the Jacksonville Squatter Camp. Here they beat the boys up while demanding to know where the home kept its money.

It has been reported that Mondeor SAPS officers rushed to the squatter camp where the gunmen shot at them. The suspects apparently fled, leaving the children and the ambulance behind. The ambulance driver later took the traumatised boys back to the home.

After hearing Thea Jarvis from TLC Ministries tell the tragic story on 947 on Thursday, November 17, it came to light that the men struck the home last week too and returned again the night before.

This was the lady that called into 94.7 this morning shortly before 8 am.
It was a bone chilling story.

:wtf: Thieves thinking that a children's orphanage has hordes of cash hidden on the property :wtf:

It seems that criminals in SA are becoming even more brazen and/or more desperate. Times are tough and repercussions are few, IMO.

Children's home kidnapping: four arrested in police swoop

Durban - Four men arrested in connection with the theft of an ambulance and the abduction of four boys from a children’s home last week have been linked to a case of house robbery.

The four were arrested in a police swoop on a shack in the Jackson informal settlement in near Eikenhof, south of Johannesburg.

Last week a gang of men hijacked an ambulance and snatched four boys from the TLC Children’s Home. The emergency services vehicle and the kidnapped boys were found unharmed shortly after the incident.

Police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Kay Makhubela said that investigators had worked day and night to track the suspects.

“Information from the community streamed in left and right and this ended in the morning when they went to a place in Jackson informal settlement. They went to one of the shacks and when they searched they found the four suspects with two unlicensed firearms,” he said.

“They were found with the driver’s license of the ambulance attendant and some of the cellphones which had been stolen were also found,” Makhubela said.

He added that one of the firearms appears to have been stolen in a house robbery.

“One of the recovered firearms was linked to a house robbery where the suspects injured the owner of the house and we are seeing if we can link them to other cases,” he said.

Two men remain at large and the arrested suspects will appear in court soon.
