Army steps in on Xeno issues

Now there is in fighting between the Police heads and the Army.

The Army says they are running the opperation and the Police says no

Believe me this is a bed thing. The old days they didnt need the army, the cops could do the job perfectly if needed. Now the SAPS is suuch a disgrace that they NEED the army. There is now going to be a battle between the army and the SAPS. This place is a damn circus

no, imo its about time, as it is, SA doesn't have any real foreign enemies. So the soldiers are just lazing about wasting our munny.
The defense force should protect the citizens from all attackers, foreign AND domestic. So they should have long time already been used to help the understaffed police to combat crime, where saffers are attacked.
Now that we have useless luigat hooligan locals going on the rampage, just living out their brutal identities, we need them taken out. When they're done with the foreigners they will just be back out in the suburbs commiting crime.
They must take out the hooligans, and get the illegals out.
But on the other side, even in the police and SANDF, we have just some more hooligans, just now in uniform... ...
Still, our useless gov should fix the underlying issues of k@k service to our own people.
And howcome us normal SA citizens don't get extra resources to protect us from crime evry day?!

What I don't understand is that when it's white on black it's labelled racist, when it's black on black, it's labelled xenophobic?

getafix what you call white on white attacks?

also racist?

lets say the afrikaaners decide the english whites are bad and start attacking them, what would you call it?

to my understanding racism = black vs white not black vs black

I can picture it now. The cowards shooting at the SAPS from the dark before trying to shoot at the army from the dark as well. Then all hell will break loose!

I can't see any army unit standing for that.

Assuming black is a race and white is a race, then b-on-b or w-on-w violence can't be termed racism. In the b-on-b scenario it is possibly tribalism, and in w-on-w, football hooliganism?

English/Afrikaans - probably a boer war.

I don't think that xenophobia is right either. Simply, that is a fear of strangers. Doesn't look like the mobs are scared. I think the term has been used to try and simplify the problem and deflect the cause. We have a symptom that results in foreign black people being assaulted and murdered. The cause is a failing in government.

We had spin calling the blackouts and powercuts loadshedding. Makes it seem that it isn't Eishkom or government's fault. Now we have xenophobia becuase some of our people don't like other people. What a crock! This is state incubated violence.

Hi Guys,

Please keep the content of this thread within acceptable levels.
I understand there are emotive issues at hand.

What the heck did the ANC Government expect when they left the borders open to every "refugee" in Africa. Braaivleis, Sunny Skies and Chevrolet?

I have 3 DRC Refugees working for me and other than the language issues (French) they are actually good people.
Our own people are losing out on jobs to outsiders and I understand their grievances, but the Labour Market is also based on Supply and Demand and if our own people are losing jobs to foreigners then perhaps too many refugees are entering our country placing strain on our economy and creating the imbalance? Government is just sooo slooow to do anything meaningful and I blame them for creating the mess we are in.
My question is what would these Refugees be doing if there was no venue for them to move to? They would be forced to deal with their problems at home, instead they are welcomed by our Government with open arms, promised the earth, qualify for Refugee Status (Around R500 a month), place a drain on our Resources and then they return home. Nothing in it for our Country.
No country in the world simply allows 3, 4 or heck knows how many million people to simply walk over their borders. Where is the planning, refugee camps, food aid etc for these people. Does the Government actually have a plan on how to deal with the problem at hand?

Great to have liberal policies entrenched into our Constitution for Refugees, but another to just open the flood gates to all and sundry.
The increased demand on our resources only tips the balance to higher and higher prices for food, electricity, water etc. So while we help our fellow Africans we ourselves are losing out making our own lives harder and more stressful.

The whole situation is a complete mess and I foresee no easy resolution either.
