Hi Guys,
Please keep the content of this thread within acceptable levels.
I understand there are emotive issues at hand.

What the heck did the ANC Government expect when they left the borders open to every "refugee" in Africa. Braaivleis, Sunny Skies and Chevrolet?
I have 3 DRC Refugees working for me and other than the language issues (French) they are actually good people.
Our own people are losing out on jobs to outsiders and I understand their grievances, but the Labour Market is also based on Supply and Demand and if our own people are losing jobs to foreigners then perhaps too many refugees are entering our country placing strain on our economy and creating the imbalance? Government is just sooo slooow to do anything meaningful and I blame them for creating the mess we are in.
My question is what would these Refugees be doing if there was no venue for them to move to? They would be forced to deal with their problems at home, instead they are welcomed by our Government with open arms, promised the earth, qualify for Refugee Status (Around R500 a month), place a drain on our Resources and then they return home. Nothing in it for our Country.
No country in the world simply allows 3, 4 or heck knows how many million people to simply walk over their borders. Where is the planning, refugee camps, food aid etc for these people. Does the Government actually have a plan on how to deal with the problem at hand?
Great to have liberal policies entrenched into our Constitution for Refugees, but another to just open the flood gates to all and sundry.
The increased demand on our resources only tips the balance to higher and higher prices for food, electricity, water etc. So while we help our fellow Africans we ourselves are losing out making our own lives harder and more stressful.
The whole situation is a complete mess and I foresee no easy resolution either.
