Article: African elections a positive sign

The high number of African countries that have gone to the polls is an indication that democracy has started to take root on the continent, says chairperson of the Independent Electoral Commission Advocate Pansy Tlakula.

Speaking at a High Level Regional Meeting on Elections Integrity and Security in Eastern and Southern Africa in Sandton on Thursday, Tlakula noted that by the end of this year alone, 27 African countries would have held elections.
 
They also need to get rid of all the teething problems, heard on the radio this morning something about 2 parties somewhere both declaring themselves "winners" lol
 
African elections are not the same as international elections, ask Mugabe he knows.
