Disgruntled IFP supporters held ANC members hostage in northern Alexandra in Johannesburg in the early hours of Thursday morning, according to reports.
Gauteng African National Congress spokesman Nkenke Kekana told The Star newspaper: "ANC party agents were held hostage from 3am, threatened with their lives."
