The ANC in Gauteng welcomed two new members from the DA into the ruling party on Thursday.
The Democratic Alliance's Tshwane ward 58 councillor Sam Moimane and City of Tshwane councillor Sello Maila were welcomed into the ANC by Gauteng secretary David Makhura at the provincial office in Johannesburg.

Expect this to happen a lot. The ANC deploys and infiltrates its people within the DA and then gets them to publicly turn. This is a common strategy.
We got this one guy here in the Eastern Cape, he used to be a DA councilor. Was articulate and well spoken. Couple of months down the line the ANC bought him out (they offer hard cash if you turn). But what the ANC often does in those situations is once you are in the ANC, they regulate you to the back of everything. So you may be part of the ANC, but they treat you like trash. When this EC councilor defected, he went to the newspapers telling the world that we are a racist, white dominated party, etc. The usual BS.
I was at a leaders road show last friday and this same councilor is now wanting to get back into the DA. Apparently he doesnt like the ANC. What was scary was that a handful of councilors considered taking him back. Luckily leadership said no.
I think a lot of corrupt people join the DA thinking they are ANC-lite. Anyone who thinks that actually doesnt understand South African politics at all. They have a very shallow understanding of the reality of day to day life for DA politicians. They work you hard! The number 1 reason people quit the DA is because of the work load. People thinking they can get an easy ride with the DA are quickly disillusioned. Dont become a DA councilor unless you are prepared to work 8 am to 8pm and give up most of your weekends.
