Article: Another KFC complaint

An Empangeni woman who was not allowed to take non-halaal food to work at KFC has lodged a complaint with the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA), it was reported on Thursday.

This was the second such complaint against the fast food chain.

Over 12 hours, not really fair is it, if they so against staff taking their own food in, they should allow the staff to have two pieces every 5 hours or so.

Per meal. I'm sure they get lunch and dinner.
 
Maybe they also know how unhealthy and what crap is produced and sold and that's why they want to take their own food.
 
Imagine eating KFC everyday no thanks, why don't the employees eat their lunch elsewhere?
 
They should be allowed the right to freedom of consumption. They can't be expected to have the same meal every day. I will conduct interviews at my local KFC tomorrow and report back.

Having worked in a few restaurants and my wife having worked in more, no you get one meal over 12 hours.

I am sure it isn't just 2 pieces of chicken but also chips / pap / roll.

They dont sell eggs at KFC.
The store has rules and regulations they need to follow, non halaal food will be a direct violation of their T&C that they have agreed upon.
 
The stores must just provide a place where employees can keep their non-halaal food and eat. Or does halaal say you can't have non-halaal in the same building? That'd be ridiculous.

most halaal places allow there staff to bring there own food, they just keep it in lockers away from the kitchen or the staff have a seperatte area for their lunch (so contamination doesnt ocur),considerign majority of employees wont be muslim
so realy think KFC (or this branch) is realy being funny or who ever manages it should think a little and consider their staff.
