Article: Apartheid-era statues divide Cape Town

Next thing you know they are going to tell us to change our imperialist names and surnames because we remind them too much of the past.
 
Remove ALL racist Statues. Statues should be something to admire, nothing to admire about the apartheid era except those who tried to stop it, end of story. Humans are not dumb enough to magically forget what had happened in Apartheid, we have daily reminders of such things everywhere you go around the world.

The Hofmeyer statue is not racist, nor is it from apartheid....

You may want to go and research your own cities and countries history a bit more.
 
It's already a sickening feeling to pay TAX :sick:. . . it's even worse knowing what they use it for (demolishing statues? :wtf:)

Typical clueless souf efrikan mentality that knows nothing of history. Like I said in my first post, the only thing they care about is "the struggle" .. even if it has nothing to do with the strugge. If it is white, it is racist or imperialist.
 
Interesting maps on culture distribution in SA on that site (where did they get their info I wonder). More importantly where does it leave our beloved CT statues?
 
Well the ANC and Mike Sutcliffe have done an excellent job of destroying Durban's history with over a hundred street name changes, and the Dick King statue is hanging on by the skin of its teeth. This, I guess is what awaits Cape Town if the DA loses control...bloody ridiculous! :mad:
 
Yeah cause pulling down statues makes everything alright. Look at Iraq. They pulled down Saddam's statue. The country is in an even bigger mess than it's ever been before.

o do these people even know who Jan Hofmeyer was? Alan Paton Wrote a book on him and called his death "A SOUTH AFRICAN TRAGEDY"...
