Banks have warned the ANC to be aware of the implications of its policy decisions at the upcoming Mangaung conference, it was reported on Tuesday.

Banking Association of SA MD Cas Coovadia said the policy decisions to be taken at the party's elective conference next week could have a negative effect on banks, Business Day newspaper reported.

The ANC is the ruling party and has the majority of the country's support. It will therefore always attempt to determine government policy.
