Article: Comrades Marathon doping probe is racist: report

Comrades Marathon winner Ludwick Mamabolo who is being probed for possible doping, is a victim of racism, his family said, the Sowetan newspaper reported on Thursday.

"He came second in his first race in 2010 and nothing was probed. Now that he had sacrificed his job and trained to win the race, there are issues. Could that not be about the fact that he is black?" Mamabolo's father was quoted by the paper.

Oh good lord.

Someone please smack them on the back of the head.

:cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry:

so because he tested positive for a banned substance, equals racism

Yes, keep on playing the race card, water it down, make it meaningless

You stupid woman (best Rene impression): all of the top 10 are tested in the Comrades. ALL OF THEM. And if he is guilty? What then? Doping doesn't discriminate based on race!

But it's standard practice to have the winners tested for drugs?

nevermind, question got answered in the post above :)

So he was tested last year and was dope free this year not. They are just digging the hole deeper it seems.
( I was hoping test B would help the guy)
This is going to be another Casta saga it seems.

I would assume then that if he came second and members of the other race were tested, that he was fine with that?

If I understand that logic correctly (and I am going to use that term loosely), then the decision was based on deciding to leave his job and do training versus actual skin colour? I am not sure how that would even have a connection to race.

One should be proud to be tested and prove they have nothing to hide.

Some chop phoned into 702 the other day when the news broke and said "This is just like caster semenya. They don't want us winning anything"

Could that not be about the fact that he is black?" Mamabolo's father was quoted by the paper.

The same question was asked during the Caster Semenya saga. The answer is still the same .. not so much the color of her skin than the size of her balls.

So no .. not so much the color of your skin, more the stimulant in your veins that made you win.
Pulling the race card just makes you look more pathetic than you already are.
