Article: Cyril Ramaphosa rejects state house

Deputy president Cyril Ramaphosa preferred to live in his own house in Hyde Park, Johannesburg than move into a state house, City Press reported on Sunday.

Ramaphosa preferred to use his private home because his family, including his wife Tshepo Motsepe and some of their four children, still lives there, his spokesman Ronnie Mamoepa told the newspaper.
 
I'm guessing the state house offered to him wasn't anywhere nearly as palatial as the little shack he occupies in Hyde Park.
 
I think somebody planning to fun for president in 5 years time
 
He is planning on becoming president long before 5 years...
 
I guess he didn't also reject his housing allowance?

Exactly,this clown has benefited enough from BEE in the name of poor blacks,go look at all the shares he has in mining companies etc,he hoodwinked the masses and used BEE to only further himself rather than the masses that he claims to represent.

A puny state home will never compare to his own home that he bought/built with all the BEE and tender BILLIONS he has made since 1994.

Ye... but he is also one of the few that has actually done something with his BEE opportunities.

So many others have squandered what they have... while he turned $1 in to 10, I can respect that.
 
You all dont see the bigger picture. If they upgrade the state owned house the upgrades belong to the people of South Africa. WHEN they upgrade his private residence, Think NKANDLA Houghton Style, the upgrades is paid for by the people of South Africa and belongs to him.

His private residence would have been upgraded sooner or later regardless of whether he stays in the state house or not. As deputy president, and likely president at the next national elections, he will forever have some security detail assigned to him.
