Article: DA will bring back apartheid: ANC

So because the older generation of whites cocked democracy up it is okay for the ANC to become a one-party, press-controlling dictatorship? Makes sense.

And it isn't just us whites who are critical. Global opinion on South Africa is dropping fast and we do pretty badly when reports are done on freedom of press and corruption. Not to mention our students are as thick as bricks according to a recent global education survey.

But yeah, darn the whites for voicing their displeasure at the ruling government.
Just sick and tired of all the moralizing and sermonizing about democracy by people who benefited and are still enjoying the privileges of a very undemocratic system. It harks back to that very past system you want to leave behind and disassociate with if you are constantly implying that your choices are superior and you know what's good and bad for the clueless native.

That's a non-sequitur. Someone 'enjoying the privileges of a very undemocratic system' doesn't exclude them from having more (or less) knowledge about how democracy can best be effected.

Race is really quite irrelevant. Some of the people that ensured we have a proper constitution (which is the bedrock of our democracy) are/were white. Some of them are/were black. These people were on opposite sides of the coin with regards to receiving privilege/hardship under the previous regime.

Your statement...

Whites in this country have never had a history of democracy so I don't understand why they are suddenly the sages of "how democracy works".

... is a massive generalisation. So to add on to that, are whites not allowed an opinion on how democracy can work better in SA? Some of them will have a clue, other won't, independent of their race.

Your truth comes across as irrational and spiteful. Your opinions are based on colour (which is a concept that f#cked this country in the first place). You accuse non-whites that vote for the DA as being defeatists. You are unable to offer a single rational reason as to why you will vote ANC other than their skin tone makes you feel comfortable. You have also accused the DA and its supporters of favouring a return to Apartheid policies and all without a single iota of evidence to back such a claim.

It's either the truth or falsehood. Your post above is falsehood due to misunderstanding.

The logic is failing with this one.

If the DA get into power it will be because the majority have voted them into power.

Why would the majority vote for a return to apartheid ?

Stop it now or risk bring reported for trolling. Logic and common sense has no place here.

You don't achieve anything if your opinion is voiced in a way that belittles and insults those who dare to NOT share your political choices (ironic when this is done in the name of democracy). It only serves to remind people of the same experiences they were subjected to in the past. Democracy is about choices so it's absurd to insult those who don't go along with your choice.

Seriously ANC? Seriously!?
I think the DA should be less concerned about what the ANC is saying and be more concerned with the opinions of the surveyed youth (who believe the DA will bring back Apartheid). The ANC is simply saying the youth are right, and it is not a surprising response given the DA's own "ANC=Apartheid" campaign. If you can dish it out you should be able to also take it.

It's not as if the ANC knows anything about democracy either.

I'm also tired of the sermonizing about how all whites benefited and are still enjoying the privileged of the previous government.
The only thing I received was an education. I can't give it back, I can use it to try and make this "democracy" work. I can use it to have an opinion and fight corruption. I can read and proof that the farce the anc calls an democracy is exactly what it is a corrupt sickening cesspool filled to the brim with siff.

I have not paid one sent of tax to any other government but this one.

I'm My education is a bother it is only because the ANC likes their supporters to be uneducated zuumbies that can't read or have an opinion of their own.

I am discriminated against everyday. and if anybody that supports this current ANC has to deal with that or could remember what it feels like to deal with it on a daily basis they would not have been voting for this corrupt undemocratic cesspool full of siff.

I'm tired of this poo. Why do I know because I read, i weigh up opinions I listen and i formulate an opinion by myself. Something a ANC Supporter can't do. They just blame apartheid and spews everything they are fed by their comrades.

So we should keep quiet while the ANC does its merry thing? What exactly are we supposed to do, in your opinion?

Those who talk down on people who don't share their own political opinions. Moralizing about how the natives don't understand democracy.

I'm a native in this country.

What are you saying? Do I look down on them? yes. Because if you have your head so high up your ass you are lower than me. I tend to look down on a bent down person.

I'm sorry, but you appear to have missed the multitude of threads where people have tried reasoning with him. He seems to take pride in the fact that he has sealed his own mind off to any reason.

And plenty of 'natives' have no clue what democracy means, how it's supposed to work, or how they should use their democratic rights to effect change. This, of course, includes plenty of 'white natives'. My own experiences have shown me that plenty of otherwise well educated people are dangerously ill-informed about political processes and democracy in general.

While I share your dismay with people being condescending towards people they deem too stupid to understand democracy, you must realise that people who are well-informed, and well-educated will often be white, and their voice is also important. The 'be quiet and stop complaining, whitey' inclination gets my goat.
