Article: Decision on e-tolling expected by end July

A final announcement on the implementation of Gauteng's controversial e-tolling system is expected by the end of July, the Transport Department said. The Gauteng Freeway Improvement Project Steering Committee, which was formed by Minister of Transport Sibusiso Ndebele to address the proposed e-tolling on Gauteng's roads, was putting the final touches on the report to be submitted to the minister for consideration, the department's Thami Mgidi said in a statement.

They are not changing anything... this is all smoke and mirrors and electioneering.

I know this because where I live, the recent strong winds removed some of the covers on the toll signage. Even though I could not see the toll fees, they already printed the signs, that means their minds are made up, and no decision will change that, unless they plan to change the signage... what's the chances???

I have made another plan... am looking for a job closer to home where I don't have to use the highways.... and then I will refrain from using the highways... the ANC and their overseas fatcat can go **** themselves

I highly doubt that the tolls fees will be scrapped or reduced by more than 40%.
Promises have been made, people in high places have had their palms greased and coffers now need to be filled so any significant backing down is unlikely to happen IMO.

The department said it was important that the process retains its integrity and that the outcome reflects the honest engagement "we have had with stakeholders across the spectrum."
Honesty and integrity in an ANC government .. did I miss the memo?

Dude, 40%? I think you are being a bit optimistic there.
I highly doubt there will even be any change of 10%.
