Article: Don't fear name change: Mashatile

People need not fear the transformative and inclusive exercise of renaming places in South Africa, Arts and Culture Minister Paul Mashatile said on Thursday.

"We are not killing anybody, we are talking changing for the better," Mashatile said.

"But, people must become involved in the debates and processes of name changes and be initiators for name changes in their areas."

The problems:
1) Things are done underhanded and unethically
2) Why don't you actually ask the people living in a street or trading in a street if they want the name changed
3) Being from the cANCer party you do what you want any how
4) Why bring "murder" into this, is it so active, reminding in your brain that this is the phrases you use
5) Have you done a costing analysis for the people staying or trading from the street to be changed

Heard yesterday they even want to change the name of the country now. Hilarious. I suggest Bananastan. Or Gravyvania.

Are you fkn serious?! :wtf:

I've lost hope with this country. Really, this place is a dribble of spit on the face of the earth.

It was shot down though... but one thing I have learned about SA. This is how they test the waters. It will happen the question is just when.

Ha ha ha. He thinks we fear what they are doing.

We don't fear name change. We are pissed-off by it.

I think the poor bastards who will have to go without essential services because fat pigs are spending the money on feeding their egos instead might be pretty scared...

45% actually, that number would have been higher if more people didn't waste their vote on anything other than the DA.

true, the DA in PTA has been quite disappointing though trying to be politically correct about the name changing. If 40% of the city voted for them (or whatever the number might be) then 40% of the city would expect them to take a decision and not try to sit on the side. That being said, my entire coordination is going to be screwed, I drive on at least 50% of the roads that they want to change weekly.
