Article: Drunk biker caught doing 201km/h

According to the traffic police if you had 3 drinks and is over 0.05 then you are stupendously drunk.

According to the traffic police if you had 3 drinks and is over 0.05 then you are stupendously drunk.

There are 2 charges against you (or always used to be) when you clock over the legal limit (now 0.05)

Driving over the legally prescribed limit
Driving while drunk

The first charge, and a less severe one is established by blood analysis.
The second needs to be proved to a magistrate by the npa with whatever evidence they may have of your behaviour and ability at the time of arrest, ie sobriety tests of sorts.

Anyway, driving anything at 200+km/h on a public road warrants getting locked up lol.

But...bikers are supposed to be awesome, responsible people

who said that? I guess in general bikers are normally responsible people because I mean lets face it, any biker would know going 200km+ on public roads mean you will probably land up dead somewhere before the end of the trip and not generally by your own fault but the fault of somebody else or just the road is bad etc.. although in me saying that there are a ton of idiots who go and buy a bike and actually have no friggen clue and get them selves killed anyway. guess 1 rotten apple spoils the rest.

I as a biker can say that I have never gone over 120km on the road. If i want to go fast ill gladly ride to midvaal and pay R300 for a practise day and go all out there, they have a great back straight which used to be a drag strip, so if i want speed ill go play on the track.

They shouldn't drink. :O I don't think you can donate your organs if you're intoxicated.

Lol yeah as I said, bikers are awesome. It's never anybody else's fault because the guy on the crotch rocket has l33t skillz.

At that speed they're not just going to kill themselves btw. You should take a look at pics of accidents involving bikes, and what they can do to cars at high speed.

Yea that bike is like a missile at that speed.

lol all the hate from you guys, actually i used to race motorbikes, not just ride them on the road and think i have l337 skills, Im am fully aware of the accidents and damage bikes can cause and i myself have had many broken bones from falling off bikes while in a safe environment on the track,

Infact growing up I was never allowed to ride on the road because lets face it car drivers 90% of the time just dont look out for bike riders.

Disagree with my statement above or not i really couldnt care. I have seen this for myself and I have missed idiots that just pull out infront of you MANY times, not that any of it was my fault, i saw it happening because luckily my reactions from racing for my whole life are much quicker than a usual road bike rider. I have NOT gone over 120km an hour on the road on a bike because I have seen what its like getting hit by a truck and losing a leg (a female friend of mind had this happen), I will ANYDAY of the week rather travel to the track where i cant fall off and get hit by a car/truck or hit a pole or a pavement. There are no idiotic jay walkers anywhere and yes i have been knocked over in the middle of the road by a dumbass jaywalker and i could do absolutely nothing to dodge it even with my reaction times.

@Rakabos3, lol you troll.... do you even know me? how can you call BS and you have never met me.. only a troll.

@samr1wp - i actually am riding a scooter now(well i call them pitbikes cos they great for using at the racing in the pits but now pitbikes are those tiny friggen things) which is still pretty quick but not anything like the 400 suzuki (the one i used to race, got to around 220km/h on the track). honestly the reason for this is a scooter is MUCH cheaper on maintenance than other bikes and is also smaller and easier to navigate traffic.

again, say all you want, your opinions really dont affect me in anyway or reflect how i ride my bikes/scooters/cars.. Just cos im young does not mean i fall into the same category as every other sheep out there.. I treasure my life and I find there is no reason to have to go 120km + on the road in a car or bike.

I know ure talking from your behind because im also a biker. I ride a GSXR600 to work everyday. Ure saying u race bikes? Then you know how quickly that needle can go up, you can hit 120 in first gear. So stop sounding so high and mighty with your l33t skillz you think u have. You never go over 120? I still think ure talking BS.

I cant stand 90% of bikers because they ride like complete tools!!!!!

I can only advise you to be less pompous about your riding skills. They mean jack ***** on the road with everything going on around you. As a biker all I can say is make sure you have every piece of protective gear on possible, and make sure you have a hospital plan and death insurance for your family.

Exactly, but just because it can do 200km+ does not mean i do. I couldnt care if you ride a bike and know it can do that.. the point is you dont know me and you dont know how i ride/drive so keep your comments to yourself. I dont ride a 600cc on the road and i certainly would not be stupid enough to do that with all the things going on around you on the road. Why do you specifically think i said ill go to track to do this.. can you even read properly?

EDIT: where did i say i have l33t skills? i said my reaction times are quicker than the average road user and if you want to have a challenge to prove it then im all good for that.

Lol

Sure dude. Keep thinking that you are better than drivers/riders around you. We can put that on your tombstone one day. Lesson one for you today. You are nowhere near as good or as fast as you may think you are. :) Lesson two will follow tomorrow

yea, you are right im not as good as others out there because quite clearly i didnt make it to the international scene like some of the riders i used to beat on the track have (back in the days when i was racing 50cc's i used to beat the likes of Sheridan Morais who is now currently racing world supersports), i never got the sponsorships so i unfortunately didnt make it as far as them. as for my abilities, again what you say means jack cos you dont even know me. I dont need any lessons from a road rider like yourself who thinks they know a ton about bikes and how EVERy rider MUST go over 120km/h.

If you want to take it to a track and then show me how my abilities are lacking then sure, we can make a plan to have a proper event where everything is safe.

We don't care how big your penis is, promise :)

The point is that many bikers have (validly) tried to clear up the misconception that most bikers behave like douches, but incidents like the one in the OP don't do much to sway public opinion. And if you are involved in an accident at speed, even 120 km/h as you claim, then chances are that you're not the only one who will die. And don't give me that nonsense that drivers don't care or aren't alert when it comes to bikers - you know the risks, and accidents do happen, hence why they're called "accidents".

Almost all those pictures are faked. They take cars that have been in accidents then put a bike in there. That type of damage to a car and the bike is in one piece? My brother got hit by a car pulling away from a Stop sign and his bike looked worse. That car most likely spun and hit a pole. How doe you loose a bumber and dent you hood from a side impact?

You sound like someone in high school who needs to prove himself. I believe you when you say ure good on track. Thats fine and I am sure you will kick my behind.

Im just saying, if you are over confident and think you are untouchable on the road, you are in for one m0erse surprise.

Oh and I wouldnt take Sheridan Morais as a yardstick for ability, the guy is so out of his league. He was just in the right place at the right time and new the right people. Thats how a lot of racers get into racing, not through raw talent as one might think.

O and this is the first article of a speeding biker? How many more have there been of speeding cars? Idiots are everywhere, no use stereotyping...
