Article: EFF gets votes in Orania

The Economic Freedom Fighters have garnered four (1.37 percent) national votes in the right-wing Orania in the Northern Cape, according to the latest election results on Thursday.

The Freedom Front Plus is the leading party in the town with 224 of the vote (76.98 percent), while the ruling African National Congress won five votes nationally (1.72 percent).
 
EFF, Everything For Free, the uninformed will always vote for this party!
 
Quite impressed/surprised at how well the EFF has done so far. Did COPE do as well when they started?
 
Gotta say... while the usual random Orania joke never fails to amuse, every time I hear or read a comment from someone who lives there I get the impression that they're probably the most sane and rational people around, completely contrary to the average assumption about them.

Oh, and it helps being self sufficient currently, with the way things are going etc.
Maybe they're putting some extra love in those koeksusters :D

Ag no man. It was the Klaasen Family. Pietie is the only one that can read and he helped them with their choices.
But he's mos a bit slow and was looking for the VF +. But his teacher told me he gets confused with V's and F's.
Remember - he was the one who came back from Cape Town with the tattoo that says 'Gife me vreedom, or gife me death'.
Now tant Annie was the election observer, and she remembers him walking his grannie and everyone through to make their mark - and she is certain she saw him looking at his arm at one time.

These random jokes, unless they're from blacks are often people covering up for their own racism by laughing at those terrible Afrikaaner 'racists' over there in that "hic" town. It's also an issue of superiority, low self esteem people always need to find someone lower than them to laugh at. But it's OK, 'cos they're enlightened worldly people who have a wide experience of the world (or at least they think so.) :)
