But if that is the case, it will be very cool.
We share a ride so currently it's still cheaper to drive for me. And I want a link from PTA east to JHB!! :( :D

I think there is a sign on the train saying that you can't eat, drink, sit in only your underwear, or set fire to the train. R700 fine.
 
Needs to be 24hr service too,cant wait to go from Sandton to Hatfield by train. should be awesome for a night out.
 
I need either to be in Midrand or Sandton. The Sandton bus route stops right in front of the office's, so that is cool, just hope the buses in Midrand also stop close enough to the office.

BUT now I am moving to PTA North :(, so getting to PTA central station will still require me to be up early as you need to fight the traffic going out of PTA North :sick:.

I'm hoping, just hoping, that Gautrain buses will be serving PTA North as well.

don't forget to include the soon to be toll fares on top of the petrol bill.

i don't think the fare will be as high as the ORT/Sandton route.
 
Just got the email. Pretoria to Parkstation R37. That is quite nice. A bit cheaper for me to travel with the Gautrain now, but if it is more than just me gautrain is more expensive.
 
Well actually, if you look at it - R37+37+6+6 + 10 (You park, return trip + 2 bus trips) = R96.

Would have thought the saving would have been better. And this is with all the discounts. Without the discounts it is R112.

Compare that to your R120(petrol) if you drive a 1600. I think they could have given better prices. Is there something else I am missing?

Oh, you won't use the bus twice if you park there. Stupid of me.

So lets compare the R106 to the R120, that is more like a 10% discount.

And the R90 vs R120 a 25% discount.

I would have wanted a 25% discount for single trips and a 35% for regular users. (But that is because I won't use it that frequently)

Well I think that is reasonable. For me it depends on at which office's I am;

PTA - Midrand = R46 return trip on the train only

or

PTA - Sandton = R66 return trip on the train only.
 
Add toll fees and cost per km for your car.

My only gripe is no bus service in my suburb in Centurion and no bus service in work suburb in Randburg - thought there would have been smaller feeder routes in suburbs
