Article: Intensify strike action: Malema

Mineworkers in the platinum belt should intensify their strike, Economic Freedom Fighters' leader Julius Malema said on Tuesday.

"This is the longest strike since 1984. We are proud of you. We are not ashamed to be associated with you," Malema said in Rustenburg, North West.

You are a fscking idiot Julius... You should be ashamed for encouraging these guys to worsen their financial future even further

Julius is playing a dangerous game, he is inciting civil unrest, by provoking another Marikana.

Just btw, I wouldn't work in a mine for R12,500 a month.

Mining industry struggling to sustain profitability puts serious consideration into shutting down operations in south Africa due to strikes.

EFF solution? Strike more!

The "EFF it up" party, indeed.

Me neither. But we might have education levels that they don't have. And if nobody wanted to work in the mines they'd mechanise. Problem is there is not a abundance of employment to pick and choose from in SA.

Agreed let's save all the miners from the danger and horrible work and just shut them all down. I hear sewer workers also have a crap job lets shut that down as well, and being a hospital worker also blows so let's close those to.

All jobs have components that suck one of those components might be pay , if you don't like it then improve yourself to improve your situation.

Sure we can pay miners the same as in Australia however they then need to be engineers who can use machines so that per worker the productivity justifies the salary. This does however mean 3 quarters of the workforce must be fired.

I agree! Intensify strikes so that the sector is no longer sustainable through labor and mechanization begins. Do they not realize they are THE MOST replaceable workers in any industry?

SA goes down the crapper, every peasant shall be equal. Some more equal than others. Greed shall lead to great poverty for the masses.

Reminds me of a fortune cookie saying...or Yoda. :D "Down the crapper, SA goes, equal, shall be every peasant. Equal, some, more than others. For the masses, great poverty, greed shall lead to."

You can stop believing the mechanize threats,it will never happen.

Lonmin tried mechanization from 2004.It was a huge mistake and they lost a lot of money. From 2008 Lonmin invested another R1.2 billion rands to de-mechanize.

Even a R12500 wage is more profitable for mines.I will always believe in a better salary for fewer people than a schit salary for more people. So if there'll be job cuts due to the salary increase,so be it.
