Mokhothu said those who lodged land claims should occupy the claimed land. She said European settlers had given people jackets and bicycles in exchange for vast tracts of land.
"That was how land was taken from us. The law that says you do not own the minerals beneath the soil should be scrapped," she said to loud applause from delegates.
she says a transaction was made. So it was done with full knowledge of their ancestors. So they were aware of what they were doing. She said European settlers had given people jackets and bicycles in exchange for vast tracts of land.
I don't see a problem with this.
Of course it then gives me the right to seize EFF assets ...
I am sure Nkandla isn't fully occupied.![]()

Invade unoccupied land?
Isn't what the Voortrekkers did?
That's called a sale. Just because your ancestors were really bad at trading doesn't mean they were robbed.
Tell you what...let's put aside the numberous times the land has changed ownership since that original bikes/blankets transaction. As a gesture of goodwill, if your great great great great great grandfather returns the bicycles and jackets to the original buyer, then you, despite being totally unassociated with any of it, can have the land.
Sadly, I suspect that the jackets and bicycles no longer exist, your great great great great great grandfather is long dead, and the original buyer is dead as well. Unfortunately that makes the original transaction irreversible.
Oh well, I did my best. It's such a pity your ancestor was such a moron. You could have had loads of land!
I fear that they will prove themselves even worse in the years to comeThese guys are of the same stripe as that other tyrant and maniac Robert Mugabe.

True. I left out all the other land invaders. Thanks. The Voortrekkers, Dutch, English, Zulu's, Sotho's, Xhosa's and everyone else did to the Bushman/San/Khoisan the original inhabitants of Southern Africa.
