Article: Jacques Kallis retires

The South African cricket fraternity heaped praise upon all-rounder Jacques Kallis, who will retire from Test and first class cricket after the conclusion of the second Test against in India in Durban, it was announced on Wednesday.

Proteas coach Russell Domingo said the team will miss Kallis' presence.
 
His time is due. Many people have been asking for this to make way for young talent. But then our test team looks good, with the only lingering inclusion being Quinton de Kock.
 
If you play at that age bowling as well I can understand how he could not continue permanently after such a long layoff.
 
I was really hoping he'd get to 300 test wickets first. :o One of the greatest the game has ever seen.
 
and hope he can beat Dravid and become third behind Ponting and Tendulkar on all time test run scorers
 
It's not the way I was expecting, but he is SA's best ever player. I only hope that he can now make the WC squad and win it.
 
If he can score 205 runs, he'll be number 2 in the all time test leading run scorer.
If he can score 113 runs, he'll be number 3 n the all time test leading run scorer.

Bar he has 250+ wickets.
 
He has only retired from first class and test class cricket. He still wants to choke in the next one day world cup.
 
And we have the bully's that the BCCI are to thank for never being given a chance to see his last test at Newlands...
