It has been confirmed that former Springbok rugby player Joost van der Westhuizen suffers from a motor neuron disease, a report said on Thursday. He has between two and five years to live, according to Beeld newspaper.

I suppose the only person who'd be happy about this is is ex wife. Now she can write a book or run to the print media with the horrible hand that she'd been dealt.

That is not too bad. Many people will have died in that period. The difference is they just don't know it :erm:

I'd prefer not to know, then I'd continue to live my life normally instead of dread each day as if its my last...
 
Well I had my doubts when this first came to light but this confirms I was wrong. What a shame. Good luck Joost-I'm sure all of South Africa wishes you all the best in your fight against this...
