Article: Malema complains about intimidation

As if intimidation was a new concept in this country. I'm sure he never complained when it worked in the ANCYL's favour...

Didn't see him moaning about intimidation when his thugs trashed those toilets in Cape Town :/

Mr Intimidation himself is crying about being intimidated................brought it on himself! Don't "bully" others and not expect there to be some sort of repercussions

Is this standard practice for marches in SA?

Do they get the money back if they (god forbid :p) don't trash things?

I don't think it's standard practice, but given the ANCYL's record it's a very good idea. It's only a deposit by the way. If they behave themselves nicely (yeah right), they get their money back, no harm done. If however, inevitably, "some agents who have nothing to do with the YL" show up and break stuff and act like manboons again, they can be held liable for the damage, as they should be by law.

Sure, it's your right to protest, but then you have to take the responsibility for your actions as well, and we all know they won't pay afterwards and it will all be fixed by taxpayers and insurance companies.

I could be wrong, but I think it is standard practice.

Yes they do get the money back, but what is the change they will not go trashing......
No it's not, that's why Julius and Flloyd told the police to get lost.

It was however proposed in some quaters after a union trashed the JHB CBD.

It was no just proposed, it was ruled upon in court

However, I am unsure if this would apply to the ANC YL as it is not a trade union. As such, the precedent has been set for any marches or strikes and a court would find against the league were the taken to court.

So it is now de facto standard practice, yes.

I saw a poster yesterday for this 'Economic Freedom March'. Again, it's jkust demand, demand, demand. We want. When are these guys actually going to start working for what they want?

I am all in favour of them marching for economic freedom - in fact I am sure there is a pier in Durban that they could march off. Free.
