Article: Mandela ambulance broke down

The military ambulance that transported former president Nelson Mandela to hospital two weeks ago broke down due to "engine problems", the presidency said on Saturday.

"All care was taken to ensure that Madiba's medical condition was not compromised by the unforeseen incident," spokesman Mac Maharaj said.

"Doctors attending to Madiba are satisfied that the former president suffered no harm during this period."
 
Amazing how the truth always seems to be covered up in this country. And only when it can no longer kept secret, oh yeah, guess what... His ambulance broke down. Did we not tell you that? Seriously not? But we can confirm it did.
 
Another indication of the state of our ambulances if even the "presidents" ambulance isn't up to scratch.
 
In which hospital was Madiba? Why a military ambulance? Urgh, don’t really know anymore, to many this and that in our Government… I’m very sure that a private or any other ambulance incl. other military vehicles could have transported him within that 40min delay on the breakdown. No Helicopters even… To tired to think about this...
 
Makes you wonder why he wasn't transported in a blue-light convoy with several spare ambulances in waiting? If we can afford to sent a spare plain to trail the working plane for JZ, why not for Mandela? Mandela did way more for this country in any 5 minutes as president than JZ ever will.
