That is probably because I never did IT, the prospect of studying biology while being the only one of 2 guys in the class were more exciting at the time than playing counter-strike.

Nor did I, but computers was compulsory in Std 6 & 7. I took science, accounting and business economics thereafter. Never played this counter-strike nonsense you speak of...

I don't know the detailed breakdown of the statistics so I cannot confirm or deny your assertions. However this year's top 3 Maths perfomers are all from Limpopo, the worst performing province. Also, 15 of the top 27 are from Limpopo. The mind boggles.
It just goes to show that the gifted will always rise above the odds.

Limpopo isn't the worst performing province though.
