I am sure unfortunately that the feeling is very much the same from whites. After all the "top most respected blacks" are in government and they can't be trusted.

Who is African and who is not? What was the purpose of this survey? I don't trust people in general, white, green, brown, black!
My definition of African is, anyone who was born here and who also has the interest of Africa running in his blood.
A white or green person who does something great for this continent is more African than a black leader who steals from the people and hides his money in off-shore bank accounts.

Don't judge the contents of an article by its heading. Duh.
Seriously they mention that this concerns Gauteng in the first freaking line of the article.
Actually you were wrong even if we just take the inaccurate heading as it stands because there are more than 45 million people in Africa and nowhere does the heading mention this concerns only South Africa.

Geez no wonder there is so much racial tension when stupid headlines like this are posted.
Whoever wrote this should turn off their pc or whatever and change careers.

It is a sufficient sized sample to draw certain inferences but it does need to be understood within a context and moreover the very question is loaded to detect a racist attitude rather than an actual reality
100% of white racists will answer that they will never trust blacks - but the Sipho who is trusted isn't really black ...
So all that we are seeing is evidence that indicates - but does not prove - a growing problem of racism amongst sections of the population
