Article: New smoking rules not well received

**Lols and once again lights up a smoke**
**Thinks about a snide and humorous comment to write but knows the anti-smokers will bring in politics and attack my personality**
**Settles for smoking and lol-ing**
I have a comment for you: As long as you do that 10m away from any entrance to a public building, no probs. :D

Yes I do enjoy smoking. If I am addicted, so be it.

That I do not like. So I try to smoke before I get grumpy.

I am not a slave, its a mutual agreement. It burns, I drag then I kill it. So no slave-master thing going on there.

Then you don't. And I don't mind if you don't. Its your choice to not smoke just as it is mine to do.

The fact your personality changes when you go without for a few hours and need to take a hit to be normal again means you're a slave.

How difficult would it be to go a day without smoking? Or how about a week?

You're a slave that's not willing to admit it.

That's the problem with most smokers. Total denial about their substance abuse.

erm, you seem to have a comprehension problem.
Slavery is working against your own will, how can a smoker be a slave if they CHOOSE to smoke

p.s. I'm a non smoker (before you bite my head off).

I'd wager it's only a small minority that do. The rest do it to fit in, or just too weak willed. In the latter case they are slaves.

Am I the only one that reads this and can't help but think "this is none of your business".

Who said anything about wanting to be treated better than others? They just want to be left the eff alone without some self righteous, holier than thou type constantly interfering in their lives.

No. They don't want to be left alone. They want stink everyone out with that disgusting stale cigarette smell. They want to pose with a smoke in public.

Drug addicts and alcoholics are less annoying.

I'm not in denial about anything. I ADMIT that I love smoking. and THATS why I do it. Because I really really do enjoy it. I can/have gone days without smoking. Sometimes I can't smoke where I'm at, so I don't.
I started because I wanted to know what the hype was about, then I liked it. So what.

Ag shame!

You should be made to pay for getting a whiff of a rich cigar or pipe tobacco. Think how lucky you really are.

/me blows smoke rings at you

Ivo Vegter's column on the issue: http://dailymaverick.co.za/opinionista/2012-07-17-smokers-get-em-up-against-the-wall

The ANC facists could have looked at the evidence but instead chose not to:

More pertinently, this regulation will seriously harm the business of places that cater to smokers. By refusing customers any opportunity to smoke – other than a small, exposed outdoor area where no drinks or entertainment are permitted – potential patrons will simply stay home. The anti-smokers in Britain swore that non-smokers would turn up to the smoke-free pubs in their droves, but the hard reality is that people simply stayed home. Since the smoking ban went into effect, thousands of pubs and restaurants closed their doors, and the rate of closures is increasing. The Lost Pubs Project cites figures as high as 50 closures per week.

...A nanny state is dehumanising. It is an attack on basic human dignity, and an unconscionable imposition on the freedom for which every generation fights anew...

If you are a non-smoker, probably yes. It's none of non-smokers' business, I agree, up to the point where it affects us directly, i.e. people smoking where the law is supposed to forbid it, i.e. public places.

But don't worry, I am not naive enough to expect you to understand this.

you see 'you wager' meaning your just guessing that doesn't really mean anything

The rest do it to fit in, or just too weak willed. In the latter case they are slaves.

If they smoke to fit in, then they choose to smoke so that they can fit in,

They have a choice between 'fitting in' and 'not fitting in'

and since when do you have to smoke to 'fit in' (whatever the hell that means). I never had a problem fitting in with my friends who smoke (I guess I'm not so childish to care about what someone else does with his life or what he chooses to smoke).

Just because it is 'the law' doesn't make it 'right'.

yes I'm sure every 2nd smoker on earth has the intention of making everyone else smell like they do....at least they want us all to be equal....

You can't honestly believe the nonsense that you just wrote.
Drug addicts and alcoholics are less annoying.
Especially weed 'smokers'?

Lol, the smokers are so angry now that they can't spread their filth as easily!

Just because something isn't against the law doesn't make it 'right' either.
