Article: Obama will not visit Mandela

US President Barack Obama will not visit his political hero Nelson Mandela in hospital, out of deference for the anti-apartheid icon's "peace and comfort," a US official said Saturday.

Obama and his wife Michelle will however spend time with Mandela's family to comfort them in a difficult time, the official said, as the US leader arrived in Pretoria for talks with President Jacob Zuma.
 
He should get the out of this country, right now his presence is not needed or wanted.

Go back home or go to some other country that isn't on the brink of losing an icon. Nothing to do with my anti west ways but his presence isn't wanted right now and he should see that.
 
I already read in another article that he won’t be visiting Mandela, all articles goes on about the overshadowing… They did say that he will visit Robben Island to give respects to Madiba.

That's your opinion. Obama is here on business and just because an icon (who is now an old man and politically irrelevant for the last decade) is sick is no reason to bing the country to a halt.

Once Mandela goes then mourn him and have the state funeral. You bring the country to a halt on that day (if you really think the economy can handle it) and on that day only.

It is actually quite interesting to know that Obama is here on trade relations rather than aid as it normally is.

Why not visit one if the most honourable men of our generation even if its on his death bed?
Unless his already dead and obamas visit would be compromised by his death.
 
Just don't like the fact that they have a carrier off of our coast and jets flying around. Without trying to be a drama queen here, I'd much prefer the US stay away from us, only bring trouble when they bring ships and carriers.

I am serious. I don't like or trust the US, I've seen and heard enough to draw a conclusion on them.

They're the last, best hope of humanity at this point, stupidity, obesity and all. Too bad about their government being in such a terrible state, but I'd much, much rather have our government cozying up to them than the alternatives.
