A 23-year-old rugby player was in a serious condition in hospital on Monday after being shot in the neck during a hijacking in Bloemfontein, Free State police said. Captain Chaka Marope said Marnus Briedenhann, 23, who plays for the Griffons rugby team, was hijacked by two armed men in Westdene, Bloemfontein in the early hours of Sunday morning.
