Well if the stats are to be trusted, it's like one less murder per day. Considering that around 45 people are murdered each day in SA, it's really no great shakes
Erm 16,480 / 365 = 45.15Erm, 16,000 / 365 = 43.8
You just need to follow the current affairs thread here to see how bad things are getting.

Trust me, things are nowhere near as bad as this particular section of the forum make it out to be. Nobody posts any positive news here, if someone does, it does not get anywhere near the same amount of posts as something negative...
There aren't nearly anywhere near 5, let alone 40+ stories of murder each day. It all gets filtered down to highlight racial profiling.
Really, how so ??
Errmmm ... what was your original point again ...?:erm:Congrats, you can do division too.
Couldn't agree more, but that's what was said last year , and the year before ... and the year before ....There has been a 3.1 percent drop in the murder rate, a 5.2 percent drop in attempted murder and a 1.9 percent drop in the number of reported rapes.
Mthethwa has however emphasised the statistics are not good enough...
Now that's a reduction to write home to mom about... well done to all those involved.Meanwhile, cash heists are down nearly 40 percent and bank robberies by 10.3 percent.
Eish! But business robberies has seen an increase of 7.5 percent.

Do you honestly think that a reduction of 1 murder per day when the rate is around 45 is even newsworthy?
No worriesJust reread your post, sorry I thought you were saying the stats implied the rate was less than 1 a day now as the total, not the difference.
It's not particular to this forum - it's all over the world that people are generally "negative".
