Article: Sars scam warning

Taxpayers should be wary of a scam using the SA Revenue Service (Sars) logo to defraud people, an official warned on Monday.

"Members of the public are randomly emailed with false spoofed emails made to look as if these emails were sent from Sars, but are in fact fraudulent emails aimed at enticing unsuspecting taxpayers to part with personal information, such as bank account details," Sars spokeswoman Marika Muller said.

Oh lol.

I get enough from "ABSA" already, now more of this stuff from "SARS"?

So the one I got from the Financial Intelligence Centre saying Pravin has a ATM cardwith 1,2 million Rand "loaded" for me is not real either?
How can people be so STUPID.....

I get them regularly as well as some of my colleagues. They always phone me up to ask if the email is legit. I always tell them that if the email is not directed at you i.e your name and surname or initial and surname then it's not legit.
