Article: SASCO disgusted with Universities

The SA Students' Congress (Sasco) expressed "disgust" on Thursday at the turning away of students by universities.

"We are extremely disgusted by the irresponsible behaviour of turning away students by the University of Johannesburg and Wits University in particular," Sasco president Mbulelo Mandlana told reporters in Johannesburg.

LOL... if you want to get into University...

1) Get good marks at high school.
2) Apply well in advance so that you won't be one of the disappointed ones.
3) Pay your fees.
4) Go to lectures.
5) Pass the previous year.

Bunch of morons... I pity them... they were brainwashed by ANC lies.

Yeah well, that's what you get for spending more time toyi-toying than actually studying.

Mandlana also commented on free education for South Africans.

And it's not free, you fool, it is subsidised by tax paying people... Those of us who already went to university and got out degrees by actually staying in class and learning something.

I wish they would understand that tertiary education is a privilege and not a right.

You have a right to basic education, anything beyond that is a privilege, reserved for those who actively participate and do well in the basic education part.

If the government hadn't pushed the marks up so much, there wouldn't have been an influx of people who had gotten exemption, (even though they didn't have grade 11 marks worthy of varsity)

When I was in matric, I know our marks were pushed up, as I got 99% for accounting, and I didn't even finish the paper. :wtf:

I feel so sorry for the university administrators who had to deal with this crap.

Idiots don't belong at universities. They already have more then they can cope with, disrupting classes and vandalising the campuses.
Saw it myself when I was at UKZN last year during the protests, they were protesting about the residences being privatised when in actual fact the university wasn't going to privatise them.
The bunch of clowns had to be kept under control by riot police.

What's with this BS of "demanding" entrance and access to subsequent years? Won't be long before degrees won't be worth the paper they are written on. It's already getting there with IT-related degrees IMO. Went through some grad recruitment at the end of last year and was shocked by how few BSc "grads" could get anywhere near completing my simple "tech check" . How the hell do these people get through varsity without bothering to learn even the most basic of concepts?

every day the average IQ of SA seems to drop.....
