HE should be fired too. I did not even know about this.

Resigning would puts the idea in people’s minds that he feels bad about what he did. And we all know he went home bragging about it.
Remorse, responsibility and accountability.. not something we find in the ANC is it?

DA should challenge both speedsters to do real community service, not their jobs - which are supposed to serve the community - but street cleanup or something on weekends.

Well, would 40 years of community service be an okay punishment in your mind?
I mean, speeds like that is basically attempted murder, firing just seems like a complete off-the-hook thing.

Guess you are right some friend will just hire them, but still they are a waste of my tax money.

But 40 years of service and their licenses, cars and drivers taken away. Never to be allowed to have any again.
 
The DA is losing their marbles, why the hell should the MEC resign or be fired just for speeding? Why? It's a totally ridiculous request from the DA. There were about 6000 people who have been arrested for speeding during the festive season, now should they all be fired from their respective jobs? The DA are retarded people indeed.

But is this not on criminal record? Some companies will fire you if you get one...
But I see your point.

IMO: People that are suppose to be examples of how a comunity should behave should not be allowed to keep their jobs and perks if they fail.

Bottom line : This is very simple.

This man is a very public figure who should be seen to be setting an example. Driving at 235 and seen to be getting off lightly would send exactly the wrong message to the retards who voted this guy in in the first place.

3 weeks ago a guy got a 3 year suspended sentence, a 20k fine and he has lost his licence for being trapped at 198 on the South Coast.

I see no reason why this idiot shouldn't be treated the same way, and, BECAUSE he is a public figure he should also get some sort of punishment that sends a very clear message to everyone that wants to emulate him, that this sort of thing is simply not acceptable.

If it means firing him or knocking him down a notch or two on the ladder, then so be it.

Agreed!
 
Fine him based on his income 1% of monthly gross monthly for every km/h over the limit.
And give him 1 day's community service for 5km/h over 160km/h.

Firing him would serve no useful purpose. Since he's in a goverment post, restrict him from having any flashy car paid by the goverment as he's not using it responsibly.
