Article: Tiger's owner may face charges

The owners of Panjo, the tiger which went missing on Monday night and was found two days later, could face two years in jail or a R3 000 fine for transporting a wild animal in Mpumalanga without a permit.

The owner insists that he has the necessary permits.

Mpumalanga is another shambolic ANC province so there is a possibility that the man is telling the truth.

This tiger would last about 5 minutes in the wild before some a^^hole with a rifle hung him on the wall.

This guy is going to breed more - we should give him a medal.

man, this tiger should be out in the wild.

The Tiger was orphaned when it's mother died of Mange. It is only 17 months old. It would not have lasted in the wild... and it would not be good to just let "nature take it's course" since they are an endangered species.

I would put this more down to the officials not knowing their paperwork than the man not having fulfilled his duty. It sounds like he had made the effort and was willing to do everything legally.

I knew this was gonna happen. They have to save face somehow so they push the blame back to him.

The only blame I can pin on the guy is not using a proper vehicle to transport the animal.

Sure he can get a medal right after he pays for all of the aircraft and helicopters and staff used to find his tiger which escaped while he was driving around with it in his car..... It did not escape from an enclosure on his farm where he was breeding with it.

If they pass the hat around I'll contribute willingly - and I guess so would hundreds of others.
