Article: Toyota recalling 1.75 million vehicles

Toyota Motor Corp is recalling about 1.75 million vehicles, including the Lexus luxury sedan, to repair flaws including defective brakes, the carmaker said Wednesday.

Toyota announced three recalls involving more than a dozen models. About 1.05 million units are being recalled in Japan, 423,000 in the United States, 98,400 in China and 36,000 in Europe.

It feels like car manufacturers are following software trends. Bring out new versions with more bugs more frequently. I'm waiting for the day that these recalls will be sold as upgrades or addons

In app purchases? Lol

Haha

Is that the Toyota make all the guys pretend to be the most reliable car in the world? They have recalled millions of cars in recent years.

And weirdly enough Ford seems to be increasing their quality and reliability over the years. Not too long ago they were the ones being laughed at. Alan Mulally really sortyed brought them back from the brink.

I doubt there will be recalls in SA.

My FJ had a recall for a safety belt bracket last year. They wait till you bring it in for a service and then inform you and do it at no charge. No phone call or email though.

Ford had some big recalls the last couple years, including the recently recall in September with 850,000 cars.

I hadn't even heard about that..... :wtf:

Airbag related hey.....? Guess no motor company is clean these days.....

Honda, Mazda and Nissan had a combined 3,000,000 recalls with the same issue as Ford. VW also had big recalls.

What about the locally produced vehicles? Any recalls on them? I've been eyeing the new Ford Ranger (expensive tho) and I don't want to have any issues if/when I start dishing out cash.

I don't see that many new Toyota's on the road as I used to.

They becoming too big for their boots and outpricing themselves from the market.
