Article: United Nations offered Robert Mugabe a retirement package

The United Nations offered Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe a retirement package and safe haven overseas if he agreed to stand down, according to a US diplomatic cable revealed by WikiLeaks Sunday.

The offer was made by Kofi Annan, the UN secretary general at the time in 2000, said the memo which was drawn up by US officials and cited the then-opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC).
 
Very confident of Victory? I guess I would also be if I threatened and rigged elections the way he does. Pucker! I still hope for freedom for that country. I encounter so many Zimbabweans here in SA, and they are so damaged by all of this.
 
At 86 he is 25 years past his sell by date. No pension needed, just prepare the coffin. Bury his mates and relatives with him. Scum of the earth that they all are. Where are any CIA assassins when they could be useful.
