What did he do wrong? The article does not say he traded in rhino horn?
Dr Uys was arrested through the efforts of the National Wildlife Crime Reaction Unit, led by the Hawks. He was charged for the illegal dehorning of 15 rhinos under Section 57 (1) of the National Environment Management: Biodiversity Act No 10 of 2004 – “A person may not carry out a restricted activity involving a specimen of a listed threatened or protected species without a permit issued in terms of Chapter 7”. The wildlife vet is accused of having perpetrated the alleged activity in the Maremani Game Reserve in the Limpopo Province.
Take the horns, expose them to high doses of radiation. Sell them to the Chinese.
Their family members, customers and everyone around them will be dropping off like flies. Message sent, problem solved.
Well interesting if they make it on the way to your door too.
Sickening, what if somebody innocent or a child also just happens to touch one of these along the way?
