Article: Vuvuzelas can cause hearing damage

@rpm, how dare you post such an unpatriotic article? ;)

So can rock concerts! Ban them!
So can nightclubs! Ban them!

EDIT : I've just realised that this is the new focus of all the negative ones! ha ha The world cup is here so now they are focussing on the vuvuzela. And Moggie RPM is very astute at posting articles on subjects that are getting the most "hits" on here currently. Good business sense.

I like Vuvus. Look the poor suffered enough - they will have junker health care and worse roads for the WC - they may as well have the Vuvu.

Just to make a vague point here - If a person goes to a club/concert without ear protection, they are being daft, since it has been common knowledge for years that the noise levels in that sort of environment can be damaging. The same cannot obviously be said for a soccer match.

I, myself, have had both eardrums replaced with grafts so I am keenly aware of the necessity to look after your hearing.

It's important that people are informed.

127 decibels is horrendously loud if it goes off in your ear.

of course it can.. any noise can

what do you mean ear protection? do you mean ear plugs? whats the use of going to a club if you're wearing ear plugs you not going to hear anything. I've been to quite a few and I can assure you no one was wearing ear plugs! my one friend tried he was just called an idiot!

You can actually hear more with ear plugs, you know how you have to yell at people? Try ear plugs and tell me it's harder to hear people. The frequencies that really pound through us, are lower than we can hear and actually have an effect on our bodies, so you are not going to miss out on the energy by wearing plugs, in any case.

All those idiots who go to clubs without protection will not find out for a good couple of years what damage they have done.
