Article: Winnie blasts Zuma over Mandela visit

Nelson Mandela's ex-wife strongly criticised on Sunday a visit paid by South African President Jacob Zuma in April to the ailing anti-apartheid icon, who is again critically ill in hospital.

Zuma and the ruling ANC party had come under fire at home and abroad for the visit in April to the former president, who was recuperating at home following a 10-day hospital stay.

Give it time, they will be back soon to score some more points for next years election...

Trying to get limelight. Did they leave stompies on the pavement?
You are his EX WIFE butt out.

It wasn't right what your cadres did but it's been debated already on every forum.

The old hag would go to the opening of a christmas card as long as there is a camera there

Winnie has no leg to stand on, she was divorced for a reason after all.
It is interesting though that everyone is turning on the anc leadership.

Nelson Mandela spent twenty seven years in a South African prison, got beaten and tortured every day for twenty seven years, and did it with no f**king problem. Made to do hard labor in hundred degrees South African heat for twenty seven years and did it with no problem.

He got outta jail after twenty seven years of torture, spent 6 months with his wife and say I can't take this sh*t no more! - Chris Rock

Nothing that she couldn't fix with her boxes of matches?

I actually agree with her, but this is obviously just cause she backed Malema against Zuma and they are both now ostracised.

ANC STATEMENT ON THE COMMENTS BY WINNIE MADIKIZELA-MANDELA

The ANC has noted and finds regrettable comments made by Winnie Madikizela-Mandela on the April visit to Madiba by the ANC NEC Officials. As the ANC we are in contact on a daily basis with the Mandela family and these issues that have been publicly aired by Winnie Madikizela-Mandela have not been raised in any of these occasions. We want to put it on record that at this time, our pre-occupation is to see Madiba recovering and being re-united with his family at home. The reasons behind the current admission of President Madiba is common knowledge to be a recurrent lung infection as a consequence of his incarceration at the Robben Island. Given this fact, any insinuation that the visit by the officials is the cause of admission cannot be true medically or otherwise.

The visit in April by ANC National Officials, was one of the many visits undertaken by the ANC leadership to see the elderly statesman both at home and in hospital. The reason behind these visits is to continue supporting our former President as the ANC and to give necessary support to his family. Visits to Madiba are governed by protocols involving the family and his medical team. We have to demonstrate active interest in the life of President Mandela who remains our leader and our icon. The ANC will intensify prayer meetings throughout the country and we call on the international community to continue praying for him and his family. We are in this regard humbled by the comforting words of the visiting President of the USA, President Barack Obama who has used his visit to the country to register his support for Madiba and his family and wish him speedy recovery.
