Article: Woolworths safety concerns

Woolworths has expressed concern about the safety of its customers and employees following claims of abuse by Boycott, Divest and Sanctions in SA (BDS) activists, it said on Monday.

"Our employees of all faiths and cultures tell us that they are feeling increasingly threatened by the protests in and around some of our stores," it said in a statement.

Then do something about it :erm:

...they seem rather harmless...they were outside the Woolies in CT CBD...handing out their pamphlets...waving a flag...indifference from me,--- 25% Discovery Discount keeps me coming back to Woolies...

One of them must physically stop me from going to Woolworths? They will get a nice biscuit on the head.

Seems I will be doing a lot more shopping at Woolworths from now on.

Yeh, I also do flash mobs now at woolies, every week I flash them R1500 and they flash me back yummies.
TBH haven't found any Israeli products, but then again, I don't care who makes what I eat, so I don't really check.

Woolworths food stores tend to be stocked poorly. Their coffee shop staff don't want to understand what a transaction is, and they're greedy scumbags with their "free"* coffee vouchers. The w@nkers will not let you buy two cups of coffee as two transactions even though it's not against the vouchers T&Cs. Also I haven't seen any of these Palestinian protesters in any of the shops I shop in. Canal Walk is loaded with Muslim shoppers and I haven't seen any, either.

Staff in their Gardens store is quite rude to add. They also don't understand that while they do not have any sign saying so, they demand that only a max of 3 items (even if you buy 3+ types of baked goods) can be purchased at their bakery/coffee counter. I guess one has to be a mind reader to know, and they will turn you away. When you call a manager the staffer refuses to co-operate with the manager.

Their Country Road/Trennery staff think they're doing you a favour by taking your money and will refuse to get off their sweet as-es to go to another till and fetch bubble wrap. For a premium store, Woolworths sucks. But then again this is South Africa.

*Cost R55 per month for their Woolworths Black card.

I really have to wonder why they are targeting WW, they arent the only company that actively trades with Israel. Most banks and many other companies use Israeli products. Its really just a small bunch of loudmouth zealots who have decided that its easier to have a go outside WW because they know theyll get more press coverage. Ignore them, and if they are abusive lay a charge.

Simple.

The 'protesters' are a bunch of cowards. The typical Woolies customer is someone who actually doesn't want grief so they are less likely to punch some snotnose in the face for handing out the verbals.

Terrorist types like to go for soft targets.
