Article: Zim elections a farce: DA

President Jacob Zuma has failed Zimbabwe with his message of congratulations to his counterpart Robert Mugabe, the DA said on Sunday.

"Mr Zuma has allowed Mugabe to get away with a farce of an election," Democratic Alliance MP Ian Davidson said in a statement.

What would you have them do? Declare war?
They have no power to do anything.
If they were the Gvt in charge then perhaps zim would be in control of the MDC then

Personally, I'm glad at least ONE party in South Africa is prepared to state the obvious instead of slapping the old tyrant on the back and congratulating him for yet another well-orchestrated farce.

They're just opportunistic. "We believe the elections supporting the dictator are a farce". They couldn't taint their image but congratulating a dictator and they couldn't taint their image by calling everyone that voted for Mugabe's party an idiot. All they could do is cry fowl

Opportunistic, right. Seeing that the ANC took such a strong opposition to the farce that is Zim elections by congratulating bob on his "victory" maybe they are just being anti-government again.
 
Same BS different election. Everyone comes out saying OMG the elections a farce but what is the point of saying it or making a big deal about it?

He won, it's over. Accept it and move on. Geez we all know it was rigged but stating it over and over isn't going to somehow change it.

Zuma is an idiot, it goes without saying. he is also the president and it's partly his duty to kiss ass up to neighbouring countries that support his own repressive government. the VF+ could equally have made a statement just as the DA has done, one of them is trying to win new supporters tho

what proof is there that it is rigged? links please. this year, not previous years.

the majority got what they wanted. sucks for the other 40%, but talk about throwing away the banks long enough and people will take any bull**** they're fed

where is the proof that it wasn't?

just because you and i do not like the guy, does not mean that 61% of people did not vote for him. i've lost all hope in humanity as it is, 61% of a country being idiots isn't a surprise to me. there is democracy at work for you, 6 in 10 people believe Mugabe's bull**** and now those 4 have to suffer

How about over a million people turned away from the polls because they mysteriously don't appear on the voter's roll?
How about over 200000 people on the roll over the age of 103?

Doesn't speak to a free, fair election.

They're so obviously stating the obvious so we can see the obscured nature of dictator in Government. Someone has to do it, be glad there's someone left to do it.
