Article: Zuma gets pay hike

The National Assembly approved, on Tuesday, a salary increase of 5.5 percent for President Jacob Zuma, effective from April 1 this year.

Zuma now earns R2,622,561 a year -- up from R2,485,839 last year, and R2,367,466 in 2010.
 
He's really earned it !

I mean he might not even be getting his R2bn private jet anymore, so give the man a break.
 
I presume this is just his ' salary ' and doesn't include his perks, his family's perks...

200 grand a month - and Cosatu isn't outraged ?

If they're paying for talking schit then he deserves every cent.

Lately? When did his sensical talk come to an end, or for that matter, begin?

We'd probably be better off having a chimpanzee for a president. The chimpanzee would be presented with two pieces of paper; each with a written option on one aspect of the country's future as decided by the president's thinkers. Whichever the chimpanzee chooses, whether it be to eat, shred or even fling poo at, would be the option we'd go for. At least we wouldn't need to pay the chimpanzee two point six fscking million rand per year.

In terms of the Constitution, the Assembly must approve the president's salary. He, in turn, approves MPs' salaries.

Unlimited if you take into account the damage his ineptitude has caused.
What pisses me off no end is that this is a salary for life.

So even when his no longer president he will still get that salary? Even if the ANC is no longer in power? Mandela and De Klerk?

The ironic thing is that his salary is peanuts compared to what he and his extended family have looted from public funds in the short time since his reliance on Shabby Shake to keep the Zuma begging bowl topped up.
 
His salary is nothing compared to his R500 million a year cost to the tax payer for all his other expenses.
