as we go into September

Noetel will be offering services within the next couple of weeks according to a telephone conversation I had on Thursday last week. Unfortunately the person from Neotel did not expand much but it is defenately the CDMA2000 product that will be pushed into the market.

The phone call came from previous communications where Neotel did not answered the questions posed to them, then they decided to give me a phone call.

I must say that I was speechless as I did not expect a phone call but simply an email. If they can give this kind of service for a simple query then I cannot wait for their services to be launched.

I don't know how much info I can disclose so I will limit it to what I have said, but I can say that I cannot wait till their services is in my area.

Ok just talked to the spokesperson of Neotel.

And all they could tell me was.
Cape Town, Durban and jo-burg will see the roll out of Neotel products by the end of September. Prices list to be announced just before the roll out.

Broadband packages: Not alot from them, however they did say that they will be using CDMA 2000 (no idea what that is) Cap? Again it looks like the SA consumer is going to get prison treatment. All they told me was that they would be offering some uncapped and others with cap.

Places like PE, where i live, can expect Neotel by the end of the year.

Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town will be the first cities to receive services from Neotel. This will happen before the end of September. The guy said within two to three weeks. Pretoria should get service from Neotel about two weeks after that (early Ocktober). He did not mention what eares exactly but he asked where in Pretoria I live and he said I should be able to get service from early Ocktober as the services for Pretoria will be rolled out beginning October.

Unfortunately I cannot remember the rest he said as he phoned me and did not send an email. There were a few other things that he mentioned but just the fact that he phoned me got me all exited.

One thing that got me thinking though is that he phoned using a cell phone (MTN). I would've atleast thought that they would be able to use their own infrastructure. Don't know if this is good or bad but just a thought.

I was contacted by Sidwell.

Expect zilch from Neo until Infrak*k has been sorted out. Or better yet... expect nothing from Neo.

"Neo = the one" to hopefully keep their word and sort Telscum out.
