Ash vs Evil Dead - The TV Series

Sooo. I watched the three movies.
Howcome everyone raves about it? As far as I can see, it's just standard B-rated movies. In other words, a bad movie (all of them).
What's the attraction?

Some B-Movies become classics over time.
It's just a cultural phenomenon.

Is it not just a form of mass hypnotism or some such? Because it is cool to say something is cool, then everyone say its cool?

It also brought much inspiration to the industry, kicking up the independent era. Then also, like the iconic The Wilhelm scream, The Evil dead has introduced unique horror sounds to the industry.

Nope, people actually enjoy watching the movie. Army of Darkness is one of my favourite movies and I watch it at least once a year.
Remember, all of this happened in the 80's when people were still renting VHS tapes from video stores.
There was no Internet to even encourage mass hysteria.

Did anyone spot a black ops 3 reference on ep 3 or am i playing too much black ops atm? When they are fighting in the room, there is an orange lampshade against a black background. Its looks like the BLOPS 3 logo. Will see if I can get a pic tonight.

Sacrilege :D

They have a cult following. Most revivals fail miserably so after 23 years I think most people thought Ash would be off his game

Clearly he's not :p

I actually watched Army of Darkness first, when I was in my teens. Then the Evil Deads. But the trilogy is legendary B-grade cult awesomeness. Campbell as Ash is simply iconic, and I'm glad they got him to reprise his role - it's even more awesome now that he's older (the scene where he's tightening his girdle was beyond lol).

Putting it in the same category as Sharknado IS sacrilege. Yes, the one-liners are cheesy as hell - but they've stayed with people for two generations, and I'm sure the series will introduce a horde of new fans to the win that is Ash.

"But, I am not Mexican!"
"That's the spirit."

Jirre I laughed...love this show. It does not take itself seriously at all and therein lies the genius of it.
