Asparagaus

As always .......... my food Q!

I need some new ideas on how you prepare asparagus.

My normal way of preparation is to steam it and then serve it with a lemon butter sauce.
 
This sounds delicious, but I would toss out the hazelnuts.

Grilled, with lemon and breadcrumbs, is quite nice...
Serve it with garlicky mayonnaise instead of lemon butter sauce...
Add some to risotto with goat's cheese, lemon and mint...
Asparagus shavings on a pizza...
Salad with grilled asparagus, goat's cheese, lemony vinaigrette...
Pasta with asparagus, use soft goat's cheese and lemon to make the sauce.... (See a theme here? :p)
Panzanella with asparagus as the main ingredient instead of tomatoes...
I've seen a tart made with it, so that's an option...
 
Had the best Asparagus at a restaurant on Saturday night. It was wrapped in smoked porked (very thin slice) and served with thin slice of a rich mature cheese (was not paramasine but something similar that was not too rich).

Sorry I cannot remember much more as the restaurant specializes in wine and I made sure I made the most of it (6 glasses that is).

Who the hell eats grilled asparagus, honestly...

Everyone knows it taste best cut into pieces, on a marmite & jam sandwich.
 
Flame-grilled/roasted asparagus with a creamy gorgonzola & pine nut sauce
I like to make the sauce with bulgarian style yoghurt rather than cream but basically all you do is roast some pine nuts and then chuck them in a hot pan with some butter, the gorgonzola, yoghurt/cream, black pepper and a bit of lemon zest

my idea holds just as much water as the rest of you's, lol....grilled asparagus?:wtf: and then you come and talk about FLAME Grilled or Roasted asparagus :D

do you put it on a stick like a marshmallow or do you put them on a braai like sosaties? :D :D
