Hmmm... a strange system they have... I phoned and gave the serial number... they looked it up on their system and gave ballpark replacement cost at around R1200 exl VAT.

But... they cannot take orders or issue quotes. I now have to email them at some acer-europe address and they will then process the request and get back to me with revised quote which I can then phone them back with and only then can they answer ETA and such.

Too much effort really. meh.
