Assassin's creed PC

The game is pretty similar to the Prince of Persia series but alot better. With PoP its 1548001335489135015 times easier to fall off a ledge and die, infact in PoP you end up dying all the time in death loops (die, reverse time, die, reverse time, die...run out of sand ).

hahaha thats y my PoP is laying in a box full of sand, cause my sand always runs out :p

Luckily I borrowed a 'copy' of this game for check out. I will not be buying this one ... it really does get to repetitive after a while.

I must say the graphics are awesome. I wish more games come out so beautifully and meticulously rendered like this one ... but is has to be more fun.

Thanks to all - game quite interesting at the moment - will see if it becomes too repetitive - hopefully not too quickly.

....name and define a non repetitive game.

All games have their repeats, i would say wow is one of those who excel in the same thing over and over with just different enemy or item models as to kill X of Y or collect X of Y.

-there is just so many ways of doing and representing a thing in game.

Controls are a bit unconventional. Mixed first impression.

Lacks the "polished" feel of say UT3.

You got a point, but when you no longer feel motivated to do things then repetition sucks. Now the only enjoyment I get out of the game is to kill soldiers on rooftops and run around for no reason. I like how the towers/churches you have climb get more and more complex...but I dont want to save another citizen or pick pocket another guy who's got some hidden plans which I dont care about.

I got it. Amazing graphics and effects. I was in awe with the whole look and how alive the whole place is [i love the medieval/crusades theme]. The areas are huge [GTA effect], multiple cities and requiring quite lengthy horse rides between cities.

Just the amazing size and look of it all will keep you busy till the 3rd-4th assassination.

After that, it gets a bit too much of the same routine [grab your horse, gallop all the way to the specific city, save a few citizens, pickpocket, climb lookout points, find the assassin HQ, do the big kill..next] . There's alot of side stuff there too, i haven't figured out what exactly i get for doing it, [i.e like all the flags in hidden places you collect] . But sadly it doesnt' change. Take GTA and imagine having the exact same 4 missions in every area you "unlock" and then doing these same 4 multiple times [i.e save 10 citizens...find 12 lookout points...].

Anyhow if i can sum the game up :

Take Prince of Persia's gameplay [climbing/running/combat] and Grand Theft Autos environment/explore/mission mechanism, dumb both down and you got Assassin's Creed.

Still amazing fun i'd say. I bought it, and i still think it was worth it. I'm specifically thinking of other games i got recently, like Hellgate:London ....now THAT was a waste. I spent more time in Assassin's Creed sitting on top of lookout point staring at the city of Jerusalem than playing Hellgate....

At the very least AC is awesome for showing off your PC graphics ;).

If you haven't played it before, i'd say get it. If you already got/played it on a console...do not bother. The PC version doesn't bring anything new to the table.

Does the PC version have that Xbox360 "wall-hump" bug? :)

The game sucks, it looks good, decent gameplay, but that's about it. Take away the pretty graphics and it can't compete with many 10 year old games.

I just finished it last night.

I havent sworn so much in a long time...if you do get to the last bit/mission/last memmory dna strand thingy, right before you have to kill Robert de Sable/that french prick [spelling]... consider whether you really want to get pissed off for the next hour or so.

All of a someone you have to kill several guards and "Robert", then sometime after that you have to kill some more guards after that, then for the next hour your stuck in situations where they BLOCK you from roaming and you have to kill 9 or so guards or even paladins at a time...this repeats over and over and over and over and over and over and when you finally get kill the "final boss" you still have to kill 2 more sets of nine or 10 or four hundred people before you kill him. I swore, like a pirate. My neighbours heard me.

I liked the ending though. Really hope the next one is set in Japan...

well it seems awesome so far, just the fact that the fighting isn't what i thought, just slash, slash, slash. nothing special, but i guess its still cool. Leap of Fate leaves a funny feeling in my stomach though(afraid of heights)

Half-Life 2 and Chronicles of Riddick EFBB are the only ones I can think of right now, but I'm sure there are a couple of others.

These games keep changing the pace/gameplay just before you can feel that things are getting repetitive.
