Asterisk -- using ADLS line for trunk?

Hi all,

Is there any reason why using the pots portion of the ADSL line as a incoming trunk line would be a bad idea with asterisk? I cant see that it would be but just want to check

pots would be analog, you would need an FXO device to receive it and make it digital.

Brings me to a quick question not that i want to push voice traffic thru ip but anyone know what sofware i can use on a voice fax modem to push normal analogue thru it thru normal line/pstn. Basically i want to answer and make calls, and i know the modem card supports it just no free newer software. I think asterisk can do it but its linux and i got win xp.
