what difference does it make if it's pc/tablet? is it a tax thing?

Import tax, PC's esp if its parts have close to 0% tax where tablets have the normal luxury item %. I dont recall the exact number but I do know its more. There is also other laws that affect PC vs say Mobile devices that can cause confusion with the tablet. As it can be seen as a PC when docked.
My fear is that because of the type of device can bee seen as both is that they can take longer than 3 days to decide. It might require communication with ASUS head office.
For all our sake I hope not.
Edit: What I dont get is why ICASA is doing it as it has no 3G modem?

Yeah, I think Landmark just lied to Silkman about the ICASA thing
Had me worried cause I thought ASUS tried to bring it in as a PC instead of a tablet and was caught out by customs

No I didn't. I realised rebel tech are closed on weekends...I received an email saying I could fetch my unit on Monday.
Was really hoping I could have it for the weekend. Oh well...
aah that sucks, you know it's there and waiting but can't get it just yet...

ONLY 32 GB have arrived. I hope to collect mine by tomorrow. 16GB and docking stations will hopefully arrive next week......

We will see tomorrow, how true this is.
The story I got from ASUS rings different in that they did get the devices but most of them was sold(Pre Orders). Only some 32 gig units that was not. Those went to the resellers for sales. They are expecting more stock, but its not confirmed if it will be next week or end of the month.
Edit: Why I say tomorrow, I am one of the Pre-Orders on the 16Gig + keyboards and was told on Friday that they arrived and will be shipping them ASAP. My delivery is suppose to arrive tomorrow.

Knowing that I paid for mine a month ago, I think I'm in the same boat as you, that is, if what they told you is true.
In general, I wonder if any of these guys start accumulating interest from everyone paying so early?

So, I have the TF and in the booklet it says I should let it charge for 8 hours before I use it. Now that sucks. When I plugged it in it started up so instead I turned it off. So, is it possible to turn it on, leave it on charge and mess around with it or should I just leave it off.
Oh, and when it turned on I saw quite a bit of light bleed on the panel. Waiting to see what its like watching movies and normal use before I decide to send it back for a replacement.
