ASUS Eee Pad transformer

Greig from WebAntics called me this AM about the problems on my second TF. Says the courier is popping around this afternoon with another swap out. Now that is FAST service.

I have to say, if it were not for the great service from WebAntics, I would have asked for a refund already and gone for a Galaxy Tab. Thanks to Greig and his great service, I will keep pushing forward with the TF. I really just want a working TF. I love the device.

I have learned that there is a revised edition. The serial numbers starting with B50K are revision 1. B60K is revision two and much better quality. I asked them to dig out a B60K and send that to me. Here's hoping :)
Greig also says they have the power cases coming end of the month and some other goodies for the TF. Yay :)

Thats good to hear, mine is B60K :) Mine is a 16GB version, and it came with Android 3.1 out the box for those interested to know

Agreed - Greig's service was the only reason I didn't dump it.

Why not recall the B50 's? 90% of them must be cr@p - I'm on no 3.

I dont think so...If you check all the forums including XDA, loads of people are having issues.

I too am on no 3 now and it looks like jackpot time. The biggest bonus for me is the ADB worked right off the bat. No 2 ADB would not see the TF no matter what I did.
This one has almost no light bleed. I have to look real hard to find it. Other than that - perfect :-) Finally!!

I think the light bleed has to do with the way the glass is set, My ipad 2 that has the same screen type also suffers from it. Glad to hear you finally got a working one, re sound and other issues.

I am thinking simp might be on to something as mine is a B60.... serial number, just out of curiosity what is yours now?

Makes you smile, doesn`t it :-) Rather than swopping out again and risk going back a few steps, I`m sticking with my bleeding #3 (B50) too.

B50 unfortunately. Greig reckons all 32GB that came into SA were B50. The latest shipment was 16GB B60 devices which is why some lucky sods got.

I have not tested the sound yet but not an issue. That can be fixed via a software update or flashing a custom ROM where it has been fixed already. My No 1 TF had the sound issue but sorted after flashing.
I have rooted and loaded CWM on No 3 already but not done the custom ROM yet so will test sound just now while on stock ROM to see. Just watching Sucker Punch - for the second time - quick, then will give the sound test a go.

Aaah seems you are right, I have a B50 as well, just checked the box.

This is classic, My PC is at my neighbors house across the street plugged into his ADSL to suck off my Steam games. Just noticed it phoned home and is connected onto my WiFi in my house. Using the Transformer that runs on my WiFi, I can remote my desktop and see the progress :)

Sweet, I love this dam thing to much.

Yeh, my 32GB is B50 as well, my dock is B60 though.

I'm loving that splashtop app, makes you not have to worry about video formats at all unless you want to watch movies on the go.
 
And add a stuck pixel smack in the middle of the screen to no 3's bleed... Mike, this was why your first one was replaced, right? Starting to think I should ask for my money back.

Ah dude. That sux. Greig will sort you out though. So far mine seems hundreds. Holding thumbs nothing goes wrong. Was worth the pain.
Just get another one dude. Awesome device when all eventually goes well :-)

A dead pixel is definitely a reason to return but in my opinion, light bleed I can live with...as long as its not too bad.

I have some light bleed at the bottom of my screen and bottom left right corner but honestly, when im actually using the TF I cant see it and it just stops bothering me.

I love my TF and I still wouldnt choose any other tab over it.
 
just checked - i got a b60. bought from look and listen like 2 weeks ago
